For this project, I collaborated with research staff to create an insect exhibit for the Belau National Museum (Koror, Republic of Palau). This project was particularly fun because I was able to draw upon knowledge I started accruing as a young child, collecting insects for a 4-H project (which led to a college internship in the insect collection at the Field Museum of Natural History, and eventually to a master's degree in entomology from the University of Kansas).

For the BNM exhibit, I centered the design on existing colors and motifs used in the museum, incorporated early entomological illustrations of Palauan insects, and where needed, created supplemental original graphics. I also worked with Museum staff to to gather a collection of Palauan stories, songs, and sayings based on traditional ecological knowledge and cultural relationships with the archipelago's insects and spiders.
